THELMA LUCILLE HINKLE
97, of Springfield, Ohio went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was born on December 23, 1919 the daughter of the late Robert & Nettie (Flory) Artz. She was a hard working farmer's wife who managed and milked a large dairy herd while raising her family. She loved her flowers and gardening and was very talented painting ceramics and porcelain pieces for her friends and family. Thelma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who lived her life doing for others. She was a member of the Springfield First Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the Northwestern Garden Club who were very active in the community and still meet after more than fifty years. Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Talmadge) Wilson, Beverly (Harry) Elliott, Sandy (Richard) Rutledge; nine grandchildren, Debbie (Noel) Coy, Douglas (La Tonna) Wilson, Kimberly (Todd) Houseman, Karen (Patrick) Kleis, Todd (Crissy) Elliott, Michael (Shannon) Elliott, Richard Rutledge, Amy (Marcel) Robinson, Shaun (Karen) Rutledge; thirteen great grandchildren, Cory (Traci), Jensen & Alainey Kleis, Hunter & Haley Houseman, Hannah & Brandon Elliott, Katie, Charlie, Claire Rutledge, Vanessa & Kameron Robinson, Kennedy Rutledge; two sisters, Vinnie Whitman & Esther (Lowell) Sinclair; sister-in-law, Kay Artz; numerous other relatives and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Charles. Also preceding were her parents; five sisters, Ruby, Ina, Anna, Elizabeth & Rachael; four brothers,Alvin, Marvin, Samuel & Thomas. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Keith Sarver officiating. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield First Church of Nazarene Memorial Fund. Thelma will be remembered for her loving giving spirit and her compassion for others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
