Robert Leroy Winegardner

Robert Leroy Winegardner, 91, of Springfield passed away Thursday evening, May 31, 2018 in his home. His pain and suffering has ended, he is now at peace. Robert was born February 18,1927 in Columbus Ohio to Lester and Pauline (Purk) Winegardner. He graduated from Springfield High School and served in World War II as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He worked for Marathon Oil Company as a distributor for 29 years. Robert was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1031. He is survived by one son, Bob Winegardner of Springfield; three grandchildren Rodney (Nicki) Winegardner of West Virginia, Belinda McClanahan and Aric Winegardner of Springfield; along with several great grandchildren; loyal friends Freddie and Nancy Wyen. He was loved and cared for by Vicky and Jeff Snyder and his little dog Ralph for many years, they were very close to Robert, never leaving him alone and providing for his needs. Special thanks to Hospice of the Miami Valley for all their help and support during these difficult last days. To Debbie Lytle, Debbie Jordan and all the other girls who helped keep him comfortable we say thank you and God Bless. He is preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life Margaret Marshall. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 PM.in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
