Swoll, Leatrice Joan passed away quietly in the early morning of October 11, 2023, at Springfield Assisted Living. She was 92. Born on January 24, 1931, in Covington Kentucky to David and Bernice Schwaller, she moved to the Dayton, Ohio area as a young woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and two sons, Ronald and Richard. She is survived by her loving children Stephanie of Sanda, Japan and James (Christy) of Dillon Colorado; her grandchildren Jason Swoll (Crystal), Alicia Mathias, Hillary Beglar Carroll (Alfie), James Beglar, and Eric Beglar (Misaki); and her great grandchildren Charlie Carroll, Truly Carroll, and Lottie-Mae Carroll; as well a host of friends.
Leatrice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked at Miami Valley Hospital in the Accounts Payable Department and served as the hospital’s point person for The United Way for many years. She retired in 1991. She was an active member of the Sertoma Club and the Huber Heights Senior Center helping them with their accounting until 2001. A private memorial to celebrate her life was held for family and close friends at her favorite restaurant, the Mel-O-Dee.
