Floyd G. "Gary" Owens

Floyd G. "Gary" Owens, 69, of Springfield, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at home surrounded by family. He was born July 4, 1950, in Tazewell, VA, the son of the late Floyd C. and Sarah Jane (Whited) Owens. Gary enjoyed his cabin in Hocking Hills, where he would fish, hunt and trail ride on his four wheeler. He was an avid motorcycle rider, often cruising on his Harley Davidson. Gary loved taking his grandsons fishing at C.J. Brown Reservoir on his boat. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Debbie; son Jeremy (Brooke) Owens; daughter Amy Beth Mason; grandchildren Austin Tuttle, Caleb Tuttle, Floyd Garrett Owens, Corbin Owens, Haylee Mason and Owen Bradly Mason; several nieces and nephews. Gary is preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Heidi Sue and Kevin Tuttle; brother Bennie Owens; and sisters Laura Owens and Connie Bennett. The funeral service to honor Gary will be Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Somerford Cemetery.
