Bonita "Bonnie" Young

Bonita Young (Jones) of New Carlisle, Ohio left her earthly body on January 21, 2025 at the age of 89.

Bonnie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on October 19, 1935, in Ary, Kentucky to Dave and Peggy (Stacy) Jones. She was raised deep in the holler of Hazard, Kentucky on Pigeon Roost.

Ever the woman raised deep in the hills of Kentucky, she loved to garden, can, spend hours making soaps from lye, sew, craft, quilt, and go thrifting.

She was spunky and stubborn as a mule and was the strongest person you would ever meet.

She had an undying love for her family.  She taught all those around her that no matter how hard life gets, always take the time to joke, laugh, love, and every now and then be a little trickster.

She will truly be missed by every person who ever had the opportunity to meet her.

Bonnie is proceeded in death by her parents; Dave and Peggy Jones, her husband; Norman Young, 3 of her daughters; Charlotte Young, Lisa Baker (Young), Deborah Allen (Young), and her Siblings; Amos, A.D., Ellis, Rachel, Thomas, Alice, and Marion.

She is survived by her sons Douglas (Carla)Young, and Gregory Young, her daughter Linda (Robert) Evans, 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, along with many Nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm with the service to follow at 4 pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.

Then she will be traveling to Hazard, Kentucky to her final resting place next to her husband.
