James V. Swanton

Swanton, James V., 72 of Springfield passed away March 23, 2021 in his residence. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on December 3, 1948, the son of Elden and Betty Swanton. Jim was a 1967 graduate of Springfield South High School: attended Capital University: a member of the Elks Club; and served his country in the US Marine Corps. His hobbies included golf and watching the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marlene Kay Metzger. Survivors include his siblings Jack (Nancy) Swanton and Faith C. Donovan Phil (Jackie) Swanton,; numerous nieces and nephews, Joe "Buz" Metzger, Jodi Metzger-Buxton, Amy (Fernando) Mills, Jill (Julian) Beausoleil, Bart (Jennifer) Cason, Matt Cason, Mark (Ashley) Donovan, Jamie (Ryan) Meyer, Kelli Swanton, Courtney Swanton; Special cousin Roger (Debbie) Lute, and special friend Bob (Susan) Headley Memorial services to honor Jim will be Saturday April 10, 2021 at 2:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with a gathering of family and friends at 1:00PM.
