Wilma Dean Griever

Wilma Dean Griever, 87, of New Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. She was born October 14, 1937, in Hazard, KY, the daughter of the late Hurkus and Ruth Combs. Wilma retired from WPAFB. She loved reading and Sudoku. Wilma enjoyed her Saturday trips to the movies with her family. Wednesday nights were spent with her granddaughters playing cards and beating them with the Ace up her sleeve. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gordon Griever; brothers Harold and Dennis Combs; and sisters Wanda Bobbitt and Betty Overbee. She is survived by her beloved family, children Debbie (Steve) Burgher, Dale (Lynn) Griever, and Dina (Rob Low) Griever; grandchildren Shannon (JJ Daum) Low, Scott (Amanda) Low, Evan Burgher, Erin (Mike Dever) Burgher, Amy Burgher, Cimeria Griever, and Angela Griever; brother Hurkus (Freeda) Combs, Jr.; sister Phyllis (Ben) Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 4-7pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. The funeral to honor Wilma will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, at 10:00am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
