William W. "Bill" Sawvel

William W. "Bill" Sawvel, 87, of New Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. He was born on June 1, 1936, in Findlay, Ohio, the son of the late John and Lillian Sawvel. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Airforce and later retired from A.O. Smith Corporation.  Bill loved to fish and golf, but most of all he loved playing tennis, which he played until his final days. Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Jane Sawvel; his children, John Sawvel and wife, Deborah and Katherine Crawford and husband, Timothy; his grandchildren, Zachary Sawvel and Nathanael Sawvel; his daughter-in-law, Tara Sawvel and his sister-in-law, Patty Sawvel. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Thomas Sawvel, and his brother John Sawvel Jr. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 1-2 pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service honoring Bill's life at 2:00 pm.
