William “Bill” O. Rittenhouse friends knew him as, “Bobby”, 67, formerly of New Carlisle, passed away February 7, 2024. He was born in Dayton on October 16, 1956, to the late Oren and Sue Rittenhouse. Bill played softball for many years traveling all over and played tennis with his son. He was always ready for a pickup game of basketball. Bill enjoyed watching and supporting various Ohio teams including The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. Bill could throw out the most obscure stat about any sport at any time. He loved his family and spending time with them especially his sons and daughter in law, and friends that he kept since childhood, Jim, Tim, Joe, Dan & Randy, and many others. He is survived by his sons Nick (Kelsie Cooley) Rittenhouse & Michael Rittenhouse, former wife Gilah Pomeranz, sisters, Jane (Salvatore) Rittenhouse, Santamaria & Sylvia Brooks, nephew Gary “Will” Stitzel and many other relatives and friends. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Reggie Rittenhouse. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2pm- 4pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. A non-traditional service will follow at 4pm for those who would like to share stories and memories. Memorial contributions may be made to SISCA.
