Wava Eileen Miller, of New Carlisle, was born on April 11,1937 in Miami County, Ohio to Emerson and Wava (Baker) Miller. She passed into eternity at her home on June 3,2024 at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 22 days.
Wava was raised on a farm on Ayres Rd. and spent her childhood helping on the farm alongside her parents and siblings. She had an outgoing personality, greatly enjoyed her Young Folks years, and made many friends who were very dear to her for the rest of her life.
In September 1958, Wava accepted the Lord Jesus, was baptized, and became a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, in the Donnels Creek district. She remained faithful to those vows until her death.
Wava had a variety of jobs over the years to support herself. She was a nanny, a housekeeper, a caregiver, and worked in a candy supply warehouse in Springfield. She formed many friendships with people in the community during those years.
During her declining years, Wava moved to Vancrest of New Carlisle and lived in the assisted living facility. She was there for three years and then her family moved her to a little apartment close to them. She was cared for by several loving and dedicated caregivers until the end. Hospice of Dayton was a great blessing to all of us during the last seven weeks of Wava's life.
Surviving are her youngest sister, Glenna Nicodemus, her sister-in-law, Wilma (Marvin) Miller Lavy, and nine nieces and nephews and their families. Her family was very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norma Jean Massie Ryman and husbands Carter and Paul, her sister Wilma Hoblit Eley and husbands Donald and Harold, her brother Kenneth Miller, and her brother-in-law Larry Nicodemus.
Aunt Wava requested that we remember our good times together. We will cherish those memories and be thankful for the hope we have in Christ Jesus, Who does all things well.
Visitation will be held at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, Wednesday June 5th from 3-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held Thursday June 6th at 10:00am at Donnels Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 3565 N. Hampton Road, Springfield, OH.
