Virginia "Ginny" L. Shirey

Virginia “Ginny” L. Shirey age 81 of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.  She was born the daughter of Scott & Hazel (Puckett) Miller on January 27, 1943 in West Virginia.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 2020; son Scott Shirey; siblings Scott, Laura, Johnny & Frances.  Ginny is survived by her loving children William (Dana) Shirey, Beth (Trish) Shirey & Laura Stevens; sister Garnet Rose; grandchildren Morgan Martin, Savannah Stevens, Ossice Stevens Jr., & Alexander Shirey; 4 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Marga Miller; numerous nieces, nephews & a host of friends.  Ginny was a loving mother, grandmother, sister & friend.  She will be missed by all of those who love her.  Ginny was a former member of Galbreath Creek Missionary Baptist Church in North Carolina.  She loved playing games especially mahjong & donkey kong.  The Christmas season was a special time of the year for her, her children will fondly remember her baking Christmas cookies, apple dumplings & blackberry cobbler.  Friends may call on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 5PM – 7PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E.
