Cassell, Terry Lynn “Bugs”, 73 of South Charleston died March 1, 2023 in Madison Health Hospital (London), unexpectedly. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on June 12, 1949, the son of Oria “Curly” and Betty (Spitzer) Cassell. Bugs was a 1967 graduate of Southeastern Local Schools. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Air Force. Bugs was a 51 year member of the American Legion Post 176 Allen Myers Hohn Sparrow and the Teamsters. He drove a truck for Wilson Freight and Preston Trucking, once retired, you could find Bugs driving for local farmers in the community. Bugs was a proud Dad and even prouder Grandpa. He was known for his love of family, his support of others, his sarcastic wit, and his friendliness to everyone who walked by - he knew no strangers. If there was an activity or sporting event around South Charleston, Tecumseh or Little Elm Texas, whether it involved his kids or grandkids, you would find him there. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce Cassell, father-in-law Homer Pyles and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carolyn (Dick) Roark. Survivors include his wife of almost 49 years Shirley A. (Pyles) Cassell, whom he married August 10, 1974; children Rob (Kerry) Cassell, Natalie (Zeke) Smith, and Amanda (Johnny) Cassell-Jenkins; brother Dale (Eva) Cassell; sisters Kelley (Randy) Maggard and Karla (Joe) Cassell; seven awesome grandchildren Nicholas and Noah Cassell, Cole and Chase Erskine, Chloe Smith, Isaac and Brielle Jenkins, numerous nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law Ethel Pyles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ralph (Robin) Pyles, Vivian (Charles) Coleman, Mary K. Pyles, and James (Angie) Pyles. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston with Pastor Aaron White officiating.
