Sandra D. Mckelvy, 63, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on December 18, 1961, in Ft. Dix, New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pamela Schmidt; her sister, Joann (Schmidt) Plummer; her father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Minnie Mckelvy; son-in-law Chuck Smith; her brother-in-law, Mike Mckelvy; and her sister-in-law, Carol (Mckelvy) Sands.

Sandy is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Robert “Bob” Mckelvy; her loving daughters, Christy (Mckelvy) Smith and Pamela “Pam” Mckelvy; and her cherished grandchildren, Charlie Smith, Caitlynn Smith, Christopher Smith, Tyler Maxwell, Brendon Ernst, Lily-Ann Ernst, Taylor Ernst, and Joanna Jaycee Mckelvy. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter, Delilah Johnson; her brother, Robert Schmidt (Barb Brown); her twin sister, Cynthia “Cindy” Schmidt; her nephew, Dustin (Bethany) Schmidt; and her nieces, Mandi Plummer, Peggy Jenkins, and Holly Schmidt. Sandy was deeply loved by many other family members and friends.

Sandy brought joy to everyone she met. She dedicated 38 years to volunteering at Valley Street Bingo and spent 20 years as a beloved lunch lady at Tecumseh Local Schools. In her spare time, she found happiness caring for and riding her horses, as well as adding to and admiring her koi pond, which she could sit and watch for hours. Above all, she was a devoted “Pamaw” who loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren.

Sandy’s kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4-7pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. The funeral to honor Sandy will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
