News Death Notice

ARTZ, Samuel 82, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015. He was born on August 12, 1933 on Shull Rd, in Wayne Township, Montgomery Co., Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Nettie (Flory) Artz. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kay; daughter and son-in-law, Zoie and Jim Storch; son, Brian Artz; 3 grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Finfrock, Brandon (Candace) Treadway and Ryan (Jamie) Treadway; two great grandchildren, Blake & Evan Treadway; sisters, Thelma Hinkle, Vinnie Whitman, and sister and brother-in-law, Esther & Lowell Sinclair; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne & Carol Crist; sister-in-law, Rita Poindexter; brother-in-law, Don Shellabarger; many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Alvin, Marvin, & Thomas; sisters, Ruby, Ina, Anna, Elizabeth, & Rachel. He was a graduate of the last graduating class of New Carlisle High School in 1951. He was an employee of Harrison Radiator (formerly Frigidaire General Motors) for 41 years. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.
