Ruth Frances Droll

Ruth Frances Droll, 93, of Springfield passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was born April 30, 1923 in Frost, KY the daughter of John L. and Kathryn (Garvey) Mauk. Ruth graduated from McKell High School in Greenup, KY and worked as a waitress at the Frisch’s on East Main Street, Springfield for many years, and retired from the Fulmer’s Restaurant after fifteen years. Ruth attended the First Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Droll in 1983. Survivors include eight nieces and nephews Dee Morgan Mauk of Wheelersburg, OH, Dan Mauk of New York City, Kathy Mauk Grimm of South Webster, OH, Rick Mauk of Cathedral City, CA, Jeff Mauk of San Francisco, CA, David Gardner of Mansfield, OH, Sally Gardner of Austin, TX, and John Mauk of Wheelersburg. Ruth was the last of her immediate family and in addition to Lester is preceded in death by three brothers George, Robert and Dee Mauk; sister Faye Gardner; niece Sandy Lee and nephew Chris Mauk. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Ruth’s life will be Monday at 10:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Keith Sarver officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Nazarene Church or to United Senior Services.
