Russell Evans

Russell Evans age 89 of Springfield passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024. He was born the son of Russell & Audra (Ballentine) Evans on November 15, 1934, in Middletown, Ohio.  He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 siblings Thomas J Evans, Barbara Ann Evans & Marilyn Shearer.  Russell is survived by his beloved wife Isabel Blumenschein Evans; children Sheree Evans of Springfield, Diane (Peter) Gatchell of Indiana & Russell (Jill) II Evans of Springfield; grandchildren Rachel Kielar, Angela (Ricardo) Ramirez, Alesha (Josh) Jager, Joshua Gatchell, Matthew Evans, Nathan Evans & Isaiah Evans; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, & a host of friends.  Russell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, & friend.  He will be missed by all of those who love him.  Russell graduated from Northwestern High School and The Ohio State University. He was a member of the United States Army Airborne where he proudly served his country.  For many years he attended Grace Gospel Church in St. Paris.  In his spare time, he studied law, he enjoyed tinkering on different projects around the house, & in his younger days he enjoyed farming.  Most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially going out to eat with them after church.  A graveside service at Dayton National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.  Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
