Sadly passed with family after 2 years of failing health. She was the daughter of Harley and Blanche (Mouser) Gilliland. Survivors include sons Bob (Susan) of Broken Arrow, OK, Monte of Springfield and Scott (Kim) of Orlando, Florida. Sisters Maxine Hoffman of Urbana, Margaret Kester of Tampa, FL and Effie June Branham of Largo, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anne and Jonathan as well as her great granddaughter Vera. Rosemary is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband Charles Eugene Demmy, parents and brothers - Lee Gilliland, Ned Gilliland and Richard Marlon Gilliland, all of Springfield. She is also preceded in death by her sisters – Dorothy O’Brien of Springfield, Esther Cochran of Las Vegas, NV, Jean Hartley of Laurelville, OH, Eileen Gundolf and Joanne Minnick Ehrle of Urbana. Rosemary attended New Moorefield High School and soon after she was employed by Ohio Bell as a telephone operator until babies arrived. Rosemary and Charles purchased the Lantern Bar in 1962 which is still family owned and operated today. Rosemary’s hobbies included gardening, interior design and cooking. Rosemary was an excellent cook, her 4th of July Potato Salad and her Christmas Eve Oyster Stew will be greatly missed. Rosemary was a self-taught gardener and took great pride in her landscape. She was awarded "Home of the Week" by the Springfield Beautification Committee in 2009 as well as donated her 65 foot Blue Spruce to the "Springfield Holiday in the City" Christmas celebration. Rosemary was well known for her infectious laugh, smile, wit and humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Viewing will be Friday, March 23rd between the hours of 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME in Springfield Ohio.
