Ronald "Ron" Edward Zimmer

Ronald “Ron” Edward Zimmer age 83 of Springfield passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Northwood Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born the son of Ralph E. & Lois H. McWhorter on August 20, 1939, in Springfield, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; foster son Ronnie Gilliand; brother Fred R. Zimmer; niece Angela Wilson. Ron is survived by his sister Geraldine Wilson; niece Deborah (Clyde) Wilson; nephews Howard (Deanna) & Ray Wilson; niece Kim (Mario) Iasella; nephew Brian (Pam) Zimmer; his foster son of 45 years Kevin Murnahan; Penny (John) Wood; nieces Sonya Smith, Harley Beverly; cousins Patricia Adams and Barbara Curtis, along with numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, sister-in-law Jennie Zimmer. Ron worked for several manufacturing companies including Kelsey Hayes & Taggart Building Supply before his retirement. Ron loved long distance biking, boating, fishing, basketball, & baseball. He also enjoyed the Springfield Arts Summer Programs at Cliff Park that he attended over the years until his health declined.
