Ronald Dene Hurt

Ronald Dene Hurt, 86, of New Carlisle, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, December 27, 2024. He was born August 12, 1938, in Fisty, KY, the son of the late Steven and Laura Hurt. Ronald retired as Superintendent of the heat treat department at Dayton Forging and Heat Treating. He was a friend of Bill for 42 years, where he developed many close friendships. Ronald enjoyed many things in life, including woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing and sporting clays. He loved spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events. Ronald is survived by his wife of 66 years Janice; children Mark (fiancée Linda Judy) Hurt, Sharon (Chip) Schmidt, and Kenny (fiancée Maria Algren) Hurt; daughter-in-law Barb Hurt; brother Fred (Galen) Hurt; sister Linda Allen; grandchildren Megan (Chris) Franer, Heather (Shawn) Williams, Andy Hurt, Hunter (Teika) Schmidt, and Mikayla (Triston) Schmidt-Wareing; great-grandchildren Kai, Connor, Kinslee, Darcy, and Harrison; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Everett “Dean” Hurt; brothers Arvol, Bobby, and Don Hurt; and sisters Nell Criss and Etta Gilb. Visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, from 5-8pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. The funeral to honor Ron will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Medway Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.trostelchapman.com.
