ROLAND E. ARMSTRONG

85, of Medway, Ohio went peacefully home to be with his Heavenly Father, Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was born November 3, 1931 in Peebles, Ohio the son of the late Frank & Mary (Blackburn) Armstrong. He studied Agriculture & Education at Wilmington College and received his Masters in Education from Morehead State University in Kentucky. After 32 years of teaching he retired from Wayne High School. This included several years as Principal of Summer School. He was a faithful member of the Medway United Methodist Church and served as the church treasurer for many years. Roland is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Armstrong; a son, Mark (Dora) Armstrong; a daughter, Kim Armstrong. Also surviving are two brothers, Glenn (Opal) Armstrong, Robert (Donna) Armstrong; two sisters, Elizabeth Hart, Donna Kay Dewey; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with funeral services following at 7 PM in the funeral home. Private graveside services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity on behalf of Roland E. Armstrong.
