News Death Notice

WHITAKER, Robert H. "Flash" 70 of South Charleston died October 24, 2015 in Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 8, 1945, the son of George and Pauline Whitaker, Sr. He served his country in the US Navy. Flash retired from Navistar with 30 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Flash enjoyed fishing and in his spare time was known for his gravel excavating company. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Daniel A. Schutte. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Dixie Whitaker; brothers George (Patricia) Whitaker, Jr. and Samuel (Nina) Whitaker; sisters Pauline Schutte and Carolyn Sue (Larry) Timmons, Sr.; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday November 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Foster officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to the Zion Lutheran Church. RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
