Robert E. Sites, 89, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was born February 16, 1928 in Springfield the son of Charles and Flossie (Dolwick) Sites and was reared in Yellow Springs. Robert was the last of his immediate family, which was commonly known as the "Red headed family of Yellow Springs" in the 1940’s. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from AT&T with thirty-two years of service. Robert was a member of Trinity Missionary Church and VFW Post 8673. He is preceded in death by his wife Levene J. Sites in 2012; his five sisters Rosalyn Stultz, Madge Brockman, Margaret Staggs, Anna Stuckey and Helen Van Wey. Robert is survived by his daughters Melissa Landauhl of Spokane, WA, and Michelle (Curt Larsen) Sites of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren Cameron Larsen, Anne Cron, Jeffrey Cranford, Shawn Cranford, Teddy Cranford, Ronnie Trammell, LeShawn Trammell, Kelly Cranford and Kyle Cranford; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 1 – 2 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Robert’s life will be Monday at 2:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Richard Warren officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Missionary Church.
