Robert Charles Moore

Robert Charles (Bob or R.C.) Moore, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 25, 1935, to the late Robert F. & Camille M. Moore. A Professional Sheet Metal Fabricator/ Metal Maintenance Technician by trade, Bob was known for his dedication and craftsmanship. He retired from General Motors in 2003. Outside of his career, Bob found joy and freedom in the roar of motorcycle engines, often taking to the open road to feel the wind and embrace the journey. His love for motorcycles was matched only by his affection for his wife, Judy, and his cats, which brought him comfort and companionship throughout his life. Bob was a proud Vandalia-Butler Aviator, Class of 1953, and active with the Butler Lunch Bunch, along with wife, Judy. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.  He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association and Flat Track Racing, which he participated in the 1960’s.  He was a Life Member of the Dayton Motorcycle Club since 1960. He also belonged to the Buckeye Harley Owners Group, Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, Dayton Auto Racing Fans, Winchester Old Timers Club, and American Antique Race Cars Club.  Bob was a huge fan of Indianapolis 500 and Formula One racing.  He was the proud owner of the B. R. Rasor McDowell Special, an AAA Champion Race car. He is survived by his wife Judith Moore (Todd);  children, Thomas E. (Debbie) Zwolski, Timothy M. (Laura) Zwolski, & Marilyn (Brian) Treon; sisters, Jessie Thatcher and Cindy (Steve) Glaser, brother in law Bill (Deanna) Todd; grandchildren,  Madison  Herres, Maci Zwolski-Omer, Tanner Zwolski, Sara Zwolski, Ian & Luke Brackman, Alex Lewis, Katie Tindall, Kyle Fain, Zander, Zachary & Wyatt Treon; great-grandchildren,  Autumn Rae & Emelia Jo Tindall, & Alexandria Herres, and other relatives and friends.  He was forever grateful for the help of his good neighbors and friends and family. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Michael K. Moore and Gary Lee Moore. Family, friends and all whose lives he touched are invited to pay their respects during a visitation to be held at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home in New Carlisle, OH, on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM, celebrating his life. Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions have been requested to a Hospice Organization  or Charitable Organization of your choice. In lieu of flowers Bob would like you to plant a tree in his memory.
