Robert H. "Bob" Gibson

Robert H. “Bob” Gibson Sr., 80, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 10th, 2022 after a brief illness. Bob was born December 7th, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his  sons, Robert “Chip” Gibson Jr. (Tracy) of Kansas City, MO, A step-daughter Raven Baker of OH, 4 grandsons Will Lewis-Griggs, Robert “Jake” Gibson III, Noah Gibson, Zach Gibson, a brother John Gibson (Gloria) of Ohio, and a beloved aunt, niece, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Rachel (Swartzbaugh) Gibson and his longtime partner Juanita “Kim” Carter. He grew up in Pyrmont, Ohio before joining the Air Force serving in California, Alaska and Montana. He was most proud of his time as an Iron Worker with Iron Workers Local 290 and later retiring from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He loved animals, especially dogs rescuing a number of them from local shelters. He had a unique sense of humor often expressed in his famous novelty t-shirt collection. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, January 14th, 2023 from 3-4pm with a memorial service beginning at 4:00pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.
