News Death Notice

THOMAS, Sr., Richard E. "Dick" 86, of Springfield passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016. He was born March 19, 1929 in Springfield, the son of John and Lillian Thomas. Dick was a 1947 graduate of Springfield High School and worked as a Photoengraver and Lithographer for several companies including Crowell Collier, Springfield Gravure, Printing Service of Dayton and retired from Color Systems in Dayton. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law Greg Benton; and brothers John Thomas, Jr. and Bob Thomas. Dick is survived by his wife of 68 years Norma (Gueth) Thomas; sons Richard (Jo) Thomas, Jr. and William Thomas; a daughter Sharon Benton; sister Carol (Ted) Thompson; grandchildren Katherine Thomas and Richard (Angel) Thomas; great-grandchildren Justice and Alex; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A funeral service to honor Dick will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the memorial home.
