Richard Max Mccoy

Richard McCoy, age 88, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025. His life, defined by dedication and love for family and community, will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

Richard was born on June 8, 1936, and grew up embracing life's simple pleasures. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, instilling values of duty and commitment that carried through to his long career as a postal worker. Beyond his professional life, Richard was known for his passion for woodworking, coin collecting, fishing, and gardening. His homemade chip dip and peanut butter fudge delighted many family gatherings.

Family was central to Richard's life. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kimberly (Timothy) Kohl and Susan (Robert Chiles) Wagner, both of Springfield. His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren, Amanda Dixon, Ashley Dixon, Richard (Christy) Kohl, Leslie Kohl, and Allison (Kiley) Hatch, and his great-grandchildren, Michael, Derek (Emma), Tara, Leah, Richard II, and Dakota. Additionally, he leaves behind his special niece, Barbara Meyer. Richard is reunited with his late spouse, Ruth Eileen McCoy, and brother, Robert McCoy.

A funeral service to honor Richard's life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11 AM at the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, located at 838 E. High St., Springfield, Ohio with Rev Richard Kohl & Rev. Timothy Kohl officiating. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
