Richard Lee "Dick" Barnhart

Richard Lee “Dick” Barnhart, 68, of New Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born February 13, 1955, in Springfield, the son of the late Roy and Frances Barnhart. Dick retired from the City of Springfield Engineering after many years of service. He was a member of New Carlisle First United Methodist Church. Dick loved to fish Lake Erie and bowl in many area leagues. He volunteered at Bethel Churches United Food Pantry, Clark County Fair and was an usher at Wright State Nutter Center. Dick is survived by his wife of 23 years Robyn Barnhart; brothers James (Nancy) Barnhart and David “Mike” Barnhart; uncle Retired Brig. General Donald (Grace) Barnhart; aunt Regina (Pete) Weber; one niece; three nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 10am-12pm with the service to honor Dick beginning at 12:00pm at New Carlisle First United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle First United Methodist Church.
