A service to honor Rhonda Sue Pittman Rife’s life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 12 o’clock with Pastor Ken Majors officiating. Arrangements entrusted to RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Visitation will precede her memorial service on July 12, from 11-12 o’clock. In the late evening of June 30, 2024, Rhonda Sue Pittman Rife, age 65, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away after a brief illness and was reunited in heaven with her beloved grandmother and father. Rhonda was born on December 1, 1958, in Springfield, OH, the middle of 3 children. From childhood she embraced life and valued her independence. She graduated from Louisa High School in 1977 before joining the Army and serving her country abroad for several years. Upon returning to civilian life, she moved back to Springfield to be near her grandmother. She worked various jobs in and out of healthcare but found her purpose in helping others which led her to attend nursing school at Clark State College. Her career in healthcare spanned over 4 decades and she was employed by the State of Ohio Department of Health as a registered nurse surveyor at the time of her death. She had a true servant’s heart and improved the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Her faith in God as a born again Christian allowed her to hold up others during difficult times and never wavered even in the last days of her life. We can find comfort in knowing that we will hear that infectious laugh once again when we join her one day. Rhonda leaves behind her husband of 40 years, David “Bub” Joseph Rife also of Springfield, who from childhood friend became the love of her life. Other survivors include her sister Tamara Pittman Ward (Greg) of Philadelphia, MS, nephews Matthew Ward (Hailey) of Philadelphia, MS, Evan Pittman of Louisa, KY, Justin Pittman of California and Tanner Pittman of Lexington, KY, her mother Judith Burke Pittman of Louisa, KY, and great nephew Ezra Dean Ward of Philadelphia, MS, as well as a host of aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father Albert Dean Pittman, grandparents Lillian McDonald Buchanan, Charles Burke, Julia Burke and brother James Dean Pittman.
