Rebecca Ann Mefford age 73 of Springfield, peacefully went to Heaven on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, holding her daughter Jackie’s hand while taking her last breath. She was born March 7, 1950, in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Elsworth & Agnes (Adams) Brown. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Lynne; cherished sisters Kay & Gladys; youngest son Jeffery Adam Mefford; brother-in-law Larry Williams. Rebecca is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Ray Mefford; loving daughter Jackie (Ken) Pinkham; son Ray Mefford Jr.; sister Dian Brown; brother Doug Brown; grandchildren Josh, Joey, Jillian, Jarrett, Lauren, Brooke, & Jeffery; great grandchildren Jayden, Van, Jeffey, Colton, & Taylor; special uncle & aunt Paul & Gladys Adams; childhood best friends Susan, Louise, & Judy; K9 companion Princess; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & a host of friends. Rebecca was a loving wife, mom, grandma, & friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. Becky was a true angel on earth. Selflessly helping others with whatever was needed, even to her own detriment. She oftentimes would take relatives into her home, providing them with shelter, care, & home cooked meals. For more than 30 years she faithfully worked at the Springfield Masonic Home until she retired. Rebecca enjoyed shopping, buying for others, cooking wonderful meals, collecting dolls, attending church, & taking care of others. Most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She looked forward to her daily phone calls with her daughter Jackie, calling to check up on everyone else. Friends & family may call on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 10AM – 12PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio where a funeral service will be held at 12PM with Pastor Nathan Price officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Springfield Regional Medical Center ICU, Dr. Varghese, Dr. Sutter, nurses Rose & Kerri at the Dialysis clinic, the staff of Hospice & the wound clinic.
