Raymond Bunch, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at the age of 76. He was a cherished resident of New Carlisle, Ohio but began his remarkable life journey in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where he was born on March 13th, 1948.
Raymond was a devoted family man, survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jenny Bunch, whose companionship and support he cherished throughout their life together. He was the proud father of two sons: Lee (wife Kietha) Bunch and Ryan (wife Jamie) Bunch, who blessed him with grandchildren Kalen, Brevan, Colson, Hayden, and Maycie. Raymond is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Casto, Lois (husband John) Monroe, and Janice Bunch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life.
Preceded in death by his father, Douglas Bunch, and mother, Betty Bunch, Raymond's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He held a degree from Wright State University, which led him to a fulfilling career as an Art Teacher at Northwestern High School, where he inspired countless students through creativity and encouragement. In addition to his teaching, Raymond was a passionate baseball and football coach and took great pride in his involvement with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, fostering both athletic skills and strong values in young athletes.
Raymond’s life was a testament to his commitment to education, community, and faith. Those who knew him appreciated his genuine kindness, unwavering dedication, and infectious smile.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of New Carlisle. Attendees are invited to join a time for fellowship and sharing memories immediately following the service, as we gather to honor and remember the remarkable life of Raymond Bunch.
Arrangements for Raymond have been kindly provided by Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Raymond's memory to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton and First United Methodist Church of New Carlisle.
Though he is no longer with us, Raymond's legacy of love, passion for teaching, and enthusiasm for coaching will endure. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
