McGinnis, Phyllis J., 85 of Springfield was a longtime resident of Quincy Drive. She was born in Harding County, Ohio the daughter of Nelson T. and Edith R. McGinnis. Phyllis was a member of Southgate Baptist Church. She was a proud supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. Phyllis was an avid homemaker and great cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles, Jim, Robert, Floyd and Dale; sisters Myra Fleming and Marjorie Sims. She is survived by her sister Frances (Rex) Davis; several nieces and nephews including those she raised following the death of her sister Marjorie, Anita Sims, Gerry (Lisa) Sims, Nancy Hayes and Ron (Peg) Sims. Services to honor Phyllis will be Tuesday at 11:00AM in the Southgate Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Hile officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to the Southgate Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
