Peggy J. Ayres, 79 of New Carlisle went home to the Lord on August 2, 2016 in the OSU Medical Center. She was born in Pitchin, Ohio on August 16, 1936, the daughter of William Edwin and Edna Virginia Gannon. She was a member of the North Hampton Community Church. Peggy was a 1954 graduate of Southeastern High School. She retired from Northwestern Local Schools with 25 years of proud service. Peggy was known for her kindness of always putting others first. She cherished her family especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As with most farm wives, she helped with all aspects on the farm. In her spare time she enjoyed reading; attending flea markets, tractor shows and concerts (especially Ronnie McDowell); and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Larry Gannon, Sr. and nephew Larry Gannon, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roy and Ruth Ayres. Survivors include her husband of 58 years Eugene Ayres; sons Doug (Julie) Ayres and Jeff Ayres; brother Ron (Joyce) Gannon; sister Nancy (Ted) Yeary; sister-in-law’s Brenda Gannon and Marilyn (George) Overholser; grandchildren Matthew (Jennie) Ayres, Lindsay ( Fiancé Doug Baver) Ayres, Zachary (Katy) Ayres and Ryan Ayres; great-grandchildren Lucas, Emily, Levi and Zoey Ayres; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME and one hour prior to services at the church. Services to honor Peggy will be Saturday at 11:00AM in the North Hampton Community Church with Pastors Norman Hayes and Keith Justice officiating. Burial to follow in Myers Cemetery.
