PAUL E. "RED" GEIER
92, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Ohio Masonic Home. He was born on March 24, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Joseph Jr. & Clara (Buckles) Geier. Paul is survived by his daughter, Paula and her husband Hampton Wolfe; two grandchildren, Emily and Donald Wolfe; two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Geier; his brother, Clifford and sisters, Carol and Clara. He graduated from Kiser High School in 1943. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and served as a Petty Officer Third Class Gunners Mate. Paul retired from General Motors Harrison Radiator Division in 1989 as an engineering model maker with 40 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to play golf. He and his wife also liked to travel. Paul was a member of the following Masonic bodies; he was a 60 year member and Past, Master, Past Treasurer and Past Trustee of New Carlisle Lodge #100 F&AM, New Carlisle Chapter #57 Royal Arch Mason, New Carlisle Council #143 Royal and Select Masons, Palestine Commandery #33 Knights Templar Springfield, Ohio and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32 degree Mason Valley of Dayton. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, New Carlisle. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with Masonic services at 7 PM by the New Carlisle Masonic Lodge #100 followed by the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite ring service by William Berry. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10 AM, at the Rickly building in the Burkhart Auditorium. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and or to Hospice of Miami Valley.
