Paul F. Davis

November 12, 1964 — April 25, 2025

Springfield

Paul F. Davis, age 60, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born in Reynoldsburg, Ohio on November 12, 1964, to the late John E. and Joyce (Romer) Davis. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Davis.

Paul is survived by his wife and best friend, Cyndi Davis; children: Calista Davis, Luke Davis, and Andrea (Kevin) Matney; stepdaughters: Jennifer Walberry and Amanda Shaffner; grandchildren: Kier, Freya, Quinton, Sarah, Bailey, Owen, and Tori; great grandchildren: Cooper and Wesley; siblings: Becky (John) Kimley, John (Lisa) Davis, Andrew (Diane) Davis, and Bonnie Goldman; sister in law, Kathie Davis; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; as well as very special friends, Richard and Kathy Johnson who throughout his entire life loved and supported him as one of their own sons.

Paul was a graduate of Northeastern High School. He spent many years working security at the Upper Valley Mall, Dayton International Airport, and most recently the Springfield Library. He enjoyed this line of work because it gave him the opportunity to be around people. When you hear the phrase "never met a stranger" you can be sure that's meant about Paul. He would talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Paul had a heart like no other, he put everyone else first and was always willing to listen and give great advice when needed. He was kind, supportive, and understanding, and he was funny- or at least he thought he was. Paul never missed the opportunity to tell a Dad joke, or even make up his own.

Paul loved golfing, playing Monopoly and Yahtzee (and usually winning), betting on The Ohio State Buckeye games with his brother, John, and finding new restaurants to try out. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers- this is the only downfall anyone could find in him. He also enjoyed snuggling with his fur babies: Joey, Grady, Chester, Libby, Wolf, and Bear. More than anything, Paul loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Paul was a fighter. He overcame many obstacles throughout his life and even when his diabetes started taking more from him it was rare that you would catch him without a smile. His optimism and positivity were unbelievable and truly an inspiration to others. Paul touched more lives than he will ever know and the world was a brighter place with him in it. He was a wonderful husband, Dad, Papaw, and brother. While he would tell us not to be sad, there is a void that cannot be filled and our hearts will never be the same.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, Springfield. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 3:00pm, officiated by Pastor Richard Johnson. At Paul's request, please wear your Pittsburgh Steelers gear, or whoever your favorite football team is- even if it's the Cleveland Browns he said. Paul mentioned many times that he wants this to be a time of celebration and comfort for those he loved.
