SIMPSON, Patricia Ann 78, died peacefully on July 2, 2015 at her home in Crystal Lake, Ohio. Pat was born June 17, 1937, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the only daughter of Sam and Frances Rogers. Family and friends were Pat's passion and delight. Her unconditional love and kindness for others is the legacy she leaves. Her amazing ability to entertain and cook for her family and friends even with short notice will forever be cherished by those who miss her enduring love. Pat attended school in the Rockway school district near Springfield, Ohio, and Tecumseh High School, in New Carlisle, Ohio. Pat was an active volunteer for the Tecumseh Band program where she served as President in 1983. May 16, 1970, Pat married her soul mate, Sam Simpson, with her best friend, Carol Hansgen, by her side. During their 45 year marriage, Sam and Pat enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson and traveling to Sturgis and Wyoming. Pat was retired from Big Bear-Hart's Family Center and the Tecumseh School district. She loved working and helping others even after retirement. One of her favorite jobs was working with the Copenheffer family at Copey's Butcher Shop. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Samuel A. Simpson and three brothers, John (Eileen) Rogers of Springfield, Ohio, William (Debbie) Rogers, of Humble, Texas, and Sam (Pat) Rogers, of South Charleston, Ohio. She will be deeply missed by her children Eugene (Denise) Norman, of Shipshewana, Indiana, Stephen (Debbie) Norman, of Stanwood, Washington, Ronald (Beth) Norman, of Bristol, Indiana, Linda (Jim) Segrest, of Carrollton, Ohio, Lisa (Sean) McKenna of Ellisville, Missouri, Lori (Mark) Brunner, of Danville, Kentucky, and Pam (Jay) Snowden, of Richmond, Indiana. Pat was a very devoted grandmother to Billy, Jennifer, Bobby, Jessa, Trail, Nathan, Ryan, Nicki, Jody, Jeremy, Corey, Casey, Mollie, Patrick, Hannah, Sam, Seth, Stephen, Zeb, Samantha, Holden, and Sylest. She also had 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A host of in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends will greatly miss her smile, laugh, and companionship. Pat's strength and courage over the last year of her life were admired by her family, doctors, nurses, and other caregivers. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Brunner, Dr. Alan Gabbard, Dr. Kevin Ahern, and Springfield Regional Hospice for their extraordinary care, especially her nurses, Sarah and Kim, and aid, Betty. Thanks also to neighbors, Doug, Cindy, and Bev for their invaluable help in caring for Pat in recent months. Visitation will be Monday July 6, 2015 from 4-7 pm at TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle. Funeral services will be 12 noon Tuesday in the funeral home.
