Pastor Raymond Lee Jones

Pastor Raymond Lee Jones, 89, of New Carlisle went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was born April 21, 1928 in Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Garfield and Nancy Jones. Ray dedicated his life to ministry, founding many area churches including Medway Christian Church, Northside Christian Church in Springfield and Lake Avenue Christian Church in New Carlisle. His longest tenure was at First Christian Church of Huber Heights from 1978-1993. In his retirement he continued to minister, volunteering at Hospice of Dayton for 12 years, often serving over 1,000 hours annually, and the Life Enrichment Center of Dayton where he offered spiritual guidance to those in need. Ray also enjoyed flying remote control airplanes, woodworking, eating pie and ice cream, and visiting with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 57 years, Mary Helen. Ray is survived by his children Stephen (Gina) Jones, Linda (Sterling) Stone, Philip (Sandra) Jones, Carol (Bob) Hill and Daniel (Gena) Jones; sister Shirley (Gordon) Jones; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. As a "fisher of men" his goal was to go to Heaven and take as many people with him as possible. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Life Enrichment Center of Dayton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-6 PM in Restoration Park Church, 55 Restoration Park Dr., Medway, OH 45341. A memorial service to honor Pastor Raymond will be Thursday at 6:00 PM in the Church.
