Merle Green Davis, 74, passed peacefully at home on March 11, 2016. The daughter of Harry and Marion Green (Woodworth), Merle was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ohio. A trailblazer for women in technology, she retired from a career as a programmer at WPAFB. An intrepid traveler in retirement, she counted whitewater rafting and hot air balloon flights among her many adventures and EU trips. She was an avid bowler, card player and master crochet artist who never missed an opportunity to correct spelling or grammer. She knew no strangers, her mischievous humor brought smiles and made instant friends of all who crossed her path. Merle is survived by her daughter, Anne; grandchildren, Kia and Kevin; great grandchildren, DeJaun and John; sister, Clare; nieces, Kelly (Jacob), Hope (Shawn); nephews, Robbin, Pete (Kathy), Stephen (Jodi); great nephew, Justin; many nieces, nephews, and special friends the birthday girls. Merle is preceded in death by her parents; brother Lance, sister-in-law Sharon; nephew, Wesley. Private services.
