COX, Max Allen 76, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in Essex of Springfield. He was born February 2, 1939 in Belle Center, OH, the son of Benjamin H. and Bessie L. (Taynor) Cox. Max is preceded in death by his parents; wife Margaret Pearl Cox; brothers Benjamin, Jim and Marvin Cox; and a sister Amanda Crookshank. He is survived by his son Max Allen Cox II; a brother Jack Elden Cox; sisters Maxine Leullen, Clarabelle Beck, Mary Jane (Robert) McWilliams, Betty Puryear and Roberta Jackson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 AM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the start of service.
