Mary Jane Pencil, 96, of Springfield passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. She was born April 5, 1920, the daughter of George F. and Helen M. (Boolman) Schaal. Mary Jane retired from the Clark County Board of Elections and was the German Township Judge for elections results for many years. She was a charter member of the Clark County Rose Society and a member of the American Rose Society. Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul S. Pencil; and a daughter Karen Algren. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Sue Pencil; brother George Schaal, Jr.; son-in-law Truman Algren; grandsons Spencer (Debra) Algren, Christopher (Lara) Algren, Michael Algren, Nicholas (Kimberly) Algren; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to honor Mary Jane will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM in TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the start of services.
