Mary L. Mossbarger

Mary L. Mossbarger age 81 of Springfield, formerly of West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton while surrounded by her loving family.  Mary was born the daughter of Olen Van & Lottie Edna (Tharp) Hamrick on September 17, 1942, in Elkins, West Virginia.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest A. Mossbarger; son Jimmy Lee Douglas; brothers Jack, Ralph, & Elzie Hamrick; sisters Sue Robinson , & Wanda Hamrick.  Mary is survived by her loving daughter Kathy Lee Wilson; step children Steven (Diane) Mossbarger, Tina Beecham, Sandy Hardesty, & Debra Sanders; brothers Arthur Van Hamrick, & Denzil Lee Hamrick; sister;  Rosalie Helen Bean; beloved grandchildren Amber (Joshua) Rice, & Jimmy (Tonna) Starcher; great grandchildren Hayley, David, Raven, Namara, Ryan, Justyce, & Joshlyn; several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren,  a host of extended family in West Virginia, & many close friends.  Mary was a loving mom, grandma, sister, & friend.  She will be missed by all of those who love her.  For many years Mary was a faithful member of Gauley Bridge Baptist Church in West Virginia.  Mary enjoyed being outdoors & loved to go camping and fishing.  She loved being with her family during the holidays, especially Christmas.   She enjoyed baking treats for her grandchildren, especially homemade pies & potato candy.  Her family will miss her famous homemade biscuits with apple butter & cornbread from her cast iron skillet.  Mary was a true caregiver & would never turn someone down who needed help, she was also quite spunky and had no problem telling you exactly what was on her mind.  Friends & family may call on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 9:30AM – 10:30AM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio 45505 where a funeral service will be held at 10:30AM with Pastor John Wallace officiating.  Interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.  Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
