Mary Jane Lair

Mary Jane Lair, 71, of New Carlisle went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was born September 1, 1944 in Troy, Ohio the daughter of Frances M. and Josephine (Eichholtz) Staup who preceded her in death. Mary Jane was a member of Grace Community Church of Huber Heights and was very active in many Church activities and a Hobby Club with many close friends. She was a former cheerleader and later a cheerleading advisor for Tecumseh Schools and was active in several of the booster organizations. Mary Jane received a heart transplant in December of 1985 at the Cleveland Clinic and was one of the longest living single transplant recipients. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family which was one of her favorite things to do. Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Marvin E. Lair; son Curt Lair; daughter Cara (Mike) Gootee; sister Judy (Ray) Lowe; grandchildren Matthew, Ethan and Emma; several nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Thursday at 10:30 AM in Grace Community Church of Huber Heights, 5001 Fishburg Road, Dayton, OH 45424.
