News Death Notice



ESTEP, Mary "Jane" 58, of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2016 following years of illness and a recent bout with cancer. She was born November 12, 1957 in Lone Mountain, TN the daughter of Walter and Pauline (Cardwell) Jennings. Jane was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and as the Pastor's wife, she was involved in all the various activities of the church, and was famous for her chicken and dumplings. Jane had worked at Community Hospital and retired from Springfield City Schools after many years of service. She is survived by her husband Rev. Orbie Estep, Jr.; three daughters and two sons-in-law Megan Estep of New Carlisle, Amanda and Rev. Michael Phillips, Mallory and Zach Arneson of Springfield; five brothers Tom (Billiene) Jennings, Houston Jennings, Tony (Penny) Jennings, Jeff (Wilma) Jennings and Tim Jennings, all of TN; five sisters Teresa (Warren) Ridings of Barnesville, GA, Paulette (Howard) Cox, Kathie (Bill) Knox, Ann (Johnny) Upton and Deb (Steve) Johnson, all of TN; two grandsons Landon and Declan Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law Brenda and Joe Hess of TX. and Mike Bartee of Springfield. Jane loved time spent with family, especially her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws Rev. Orbie and Rosemary Estep; and sister-in-law Roxanne Bartee. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM. In RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, and for one hour prior to services in the church. The service to honor Jane's life will be Friday at 11:00 AM. in Grace Missionary Baptist Church with her husband Rev. Orbie Estep and son-in-law Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Jane's name to the Grace Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 427 S. Hubert Ave., Springfield, OH 45505.
