Marvin L. Grout

Marvin Lee Grout, 87, of New Carlisle, passed away in his home after a brave battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born March 12, 1937, in Springfield.  Marvin was a loving devoted husband of 33 years to Shirley. They shared six children; Ron (Shelley) Grout, Michael (Melanie) Grout, Diana Taylor, Rick (Nilah) Hurley, Bill (Melissa) Hurley, and Tina (Chuck) Boggs; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Joyce Schwartz. Marvin loved spending time with family and friends, going to car shows and building airplanes. He served his community as a New Carlisle Firefighter, retiring as Assistant Chief after 23 years. He was the owner operator of M.C. Grout Inc. Marvin has been reunited in heaven with his parents Melvin Grout and Vivian Redmond; brother Roger Grout; sister Jean Brown; first wife Virgie; and granddaughter Crissy Grout. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10am-12pm with the funeral to honor Marvin beginning at 12:00pm at Restoration Park Church, 55 Restoration Park Dr., Medway, OH. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Restoration Park Church.
