Marvin L. Foster, 86, of Springfield passed away Monday, May, 9, 2016 after several years of failing health. He was born July 26, 1929 in Bloomingburg, OH the son of Martin Lee and Ursell (Souther) Foster. Marvin served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Phillipines during the Korean War. He retired from the Clark County Sherriff’s Department as a Sergeant in 2000 with 26 years of service. Marvin was a member of H.S. Kissell Masonic Lodge #674 F & AM; Antioch Shrine; Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; Red Star Lodge #205 Knights of Pythias; Ducks Unlimited and Redman Lodge. Marvin was the last of his immediate family and is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ada Grace Foster; nine siblings Chloeneid M. Foster, Eunice E. Foster, Phyllis R. Foster, Beatrice "Bea" Roach, Charis "Jerri" Marshall, Charles "Sonny" Foster, Trillis Burchett, Kaylee "Ann" Rhoades and Ronald Foster. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Kissell Lodge will hold masonic services Wednesday at 7 PM. The service to honor Marvin’s life will be Thursday at 10 AM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
