Martin James Gray

March 13, 1986 — December 13, 2021

Gray, Martin James 35, of Los Angeles, California, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 13, 2021, due to an automobile accident in Los Angeles, California. Martin was born March 13, 1986, in Dundalk, Ireland, to Jim and Patricia Gray. He was a graduate of Wayne High School, as well as Miami Valley Career Technology Center, during which he was actively involved in ROTC. After graduation he served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Thach (FFG-43). He continued to study and graduate from Universal Technical Institute of Arizona (Auto Mechanic), and Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences of Arizona (Master Recording Program 2). Martin moved to LA following his graduation and interned at Westlake Recording Studios as an Assistant Audio Engineer, before becoming independent as a successful freelance Audio Engineer and starting his own record label Alliance Music Productions. While running his own label he also took on the position of A&R Manager for Guin Records and later on On-Site Property Manager for SLIG. He was a rare and diverse talent who wore many hats, and helped with music, engineering, and video editing. Because he worked closely with the artists, he also played an integral role in cultivating and maintaining artists relations. He will forever live on through the music he worked on, and the artist’ lives he touched. Martin will be forever remembered as a bright light full of positive energy that inspired and impacted many lives. His genuine, contagious & joyful smile will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Martin is survived by his father Jim Gray, stepmom Elissa Oliver, brother James Gray, stepsister Hayley Hazzard, three stepbrothers Brody, Dalton & Brayden Oliver, and niece Lyla Capper; all of New Carlisle, Ohio.
