Marsh "Scotty" Wells, 84, of Medway, died Monday, August 16, 2021 at home. He was born in Wheeling, WV, an only child to Lawrence Scott and Verna D. "Bobby" Wells on September 16, 1936. He grew up on the banks of the Ohio River in Martins Ferry, OH and graduated from Fairborn High School, Class of 1954. Scotty owned and operated Scotty’s Party Dock in New Carlisle and was a staunch Bengals and Buckeyes fan, attending both Bengals Super Bowls and The Rose Bowl over the years. Scotty and his loving wife Linda traveled to 48 states and across Europe. They also spent many happy summers on the Ohio River at the KRW River Ranch and twelve winters in an "old people’s park" in N. Ft. Myers, FL, always happy to greet guests in all their abodes with the motto "You are a stranger here but once." Scotty leaves behind his wife, whom he married in 1958, Linda (Scott) Wells; a son who brought him so much joy, Scott Jeffrey Wells; two grandsons Scott Thomas (Madison) Wells and Coast Guardsman Samuel Thomas Wells; his much loved daughter-in-law Tonya (Wood) Wells; great-grandsons he was privileged to meet, Bennett Marsh and John Grayson, before his passing; he was loved and will be missed by his sisters-in-law Karen (Marvin) Riley, Susan Beekman Bernath and Patti Beekman; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Michael Beekman; and nephew Michael McDonald. Scotty has been under the awesome care of the nurses and aides of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton and Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice, a memorial contribution in his honor would be appreciated, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 1-3pm, with a memorial service to honor Scotty at 3:00pm with Rev.
