Marlin Dean Pyles, age 91 of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born the son of Jesse & Lilly Marie (Miller) Pyles on August 6, 1932, in Springfield, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents’ wife Nora in 2020; siblings twin sister Marilyn Cottrell, James Russell Pyles, Dorothy Dibert, Jimmy Pyles, & Betty Pyles. Marlin is survived by his loving daughters Sherry (Mark) Fenters & Terri (James Dillon) Pyles; grandsons Matthew (Allison Standley) Pyles of Springfield, & Jason (Casey During) Fenters; great grandchildren Layne, Carter, & Caiden; several nieces, nephews, cousins, & a host of friends. Marlin was a loving dad, grandpa, & friend. He will be missed by all of those who love him. Marlin was a member of the United States Army where he served his country proudly during the Korean War. After completing his military career, he worked locally as a milk man. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, playing golf, & watching sports especially the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, & The Ohio State Buckeyes. Most of all he was a family man & enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 1:30PM – 2:30PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio where a funeral service will be held at 2:30PM with Rev. Dick McIntosh officiating. Interment to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
