June 12, 1943 — July 7, 2016

Marilyn June Dement, 73, of New Carlisle passed away on July7, 2016. She was born June 12, 1943 in Provo, UT, the daughter of Edward and Muriel (Younkin) Ortez. Marilyn was a resident at Dayview Nursing Home, where she enjoyed her church group and bible study. She enjoyed drawing and painting natural landscapes, winning awards in area competitions and contributing to the nursing home art exhibits. Marilyn enjoyed taking care of the birds at the home and had a love for people and helping them in any way she could. She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Rebekah. Marilyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael Allen and Shannon Dement; granddaughter Maegan; sisters and brothers-in-law Jeanette and Richard Zsambok and Donna and Joseph Brandelik; and several nieces. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle. A funeral service to honor Marilyn will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.trostelchapman.com.
