Lorene Carter

Lorene Carter, 89, of New Carlisle, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was born on February 11, 1933, in Sandy Hook, KY, the daughter of the late Luther and Lela Jewell Reynolds. Lorene was a lifelong member of New Life Church. Lorene set an example of what a loving wife, mother and servant of the Lord should be. She loved her family and taught them to cook, bake, sew and gardening. Lorene is survived by her husband of 70 years Fred Carter; children Wanda (Gary) Stewart, Mary Suitts, David (Emma Lou) Carter, Della (Andy) Dean, Janet (David Clark) Suitts, Teresa Helmick and Norman (Deborah) Carter; brother Guy (Barbara) Reynolds; sisters Evalena (Aubrey) Whitt and Joyce Elliott; sister-in-law Nina Lou Lewis; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Emory Lee Reynolds and Elmo (Juanita) Reynolds; and grandson Phillip Stewart. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 4-7pm at New Life Church, 3350 Benchwood Rd., Dayton, OH 45414. The funeral service to honor Lorene will be held Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:00am at New Life Church with Pastor Thomas Friend officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
