Linda Marie Aungst Hines Williams, 68, was born to Dwight L Aungst and Marjorie L Praay Aungst on October 27, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father; mother; brother Daniel R Praay; and husband, Richard W Hines. She is survived by her stepmother Florence L Shattuck Aungst; husband, Walter L Williams; son Chad M Hines; granddaughter Olivia R Hines; grandson Landon W Hines; stepchildren Rick (Kerri) Hines, Darty (Michele) Hines, Keith (Melissa) Hines, Bryan L Williams, Angela Williams DeMuth and Leah Williams Roman; 12 step-grandchildren; sisters Wilma J Paulsen, Ruth A Nixon and Marjorie (Marty) Robertson; brothers Gary (Rene) Aungst, Earl (Lois) Aungst, Timothy (Diana) Aungst and Joseph (Ada) Aungst; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Through and through, Linda was a "Baseball Mom," and her love of baseball never diminished. She was always in the stands to cheer on her son and grandkids for all their games, competitions, and activities. "Unbridled enthusiasm," as she put it, her voice was often heard, and her infectious laugh left an imprint on many. She credits countless memories and beautiful friendships to her many days behind the backstop. Known to many as the "Queen Bee," she thrived in her role as Dispatcher/Jailer/Trainer at the Fairborn Police Department for 33 years before her retirement in 2016. Linda truly cherished the lifelong friendships with her coworkers and others from surrounding agencies, considering them her second family. Linda found great joy in helping others and was active in various community activities. She served as Park Layne Elementary PTO president and scheduler for the Medlake Baseball Association. Working through her church, West Enon Church of God, Linda helped organize Operation Christmas Child drives and blood drives for Community Blood Center. She mentored children through Kid’s Hope and worked with the Christian Women Connection, serving as president for several years. Linda helped prepare and serve meals for numerous events, taught children’s classes, sang in the choir, and helped lead worship. Her ultimate joy was serving Jesus. She was so indebted to Him for Salvation and the many blessings He bestowed onto her. Her greatest desire is for all who read this to accept His gift of salvation and meet her in Heaven. Linda loved all colorful flowers, and her family would like to encourage sending a beautiful arrangement to the service in her honor. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 1-2pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, with the funeral service to honor Linda beginning at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
